Work

Beck has released two solo albums through Mush Records entitled Decomposition (2004) and THRU (2006), and an album in collaboration with fellow LA rap artist Subtitle under the group name LabWaste entitled Zwarte Achtegrond (which in the Dutch language means "black background"). He has also put out solo releases under the moniker Adlib.

He has worked with various artists from The Mars Volta to Nas and in 2007 with Saul Williams on the remix for the Nine Inch Nails single, Survivalism, as well as on several songs from Saul Williams' album, The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust!.

In 2008, Beck produced an entire album for fellow Mush Records artist K-the-I??? titled "Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow". The album was licensed to UK based label BigDada for distribution in the UK and throughout Europe, and received very favorable press in NME, The Wire, XLR8R, and Q magazines (just to name a few).

Thavius' next solo album would see him behind the mic more than he had been in over 10 years (since his solo projects "VS." and "Tune In", which he self-released as a member of Global Phlowtations). Based on the unexpected success of the K-the-I??? album, BigDada decided to license this new album as well. Titled "Dialogue", this album was released in the UK and Europe on October 12th, 2009. It will be released in the US via Mush Records on January 26th, 2010.

Aside from being an avid electronic musician and live performer, Beck has also recently become a certified trainer of Ableton Live and has been giving bi-weekly workshops at the Downtown Independent theater (located in downtown Los Angeles) since June 2009, as well as giving clinics at various music stores and providing private instruction.

Trivia

His song "To Make Manifest" from the album Decomposition also appeared on the Suicide Girls [The First Tour] video.

He moved to Los Angeles when he was 16. He's originally from Minneapolis, MN.

He played alto and tenor sax all throughout school, and toured with Saul Williams initially as a bass guitar player.
